Figurative work by Barbara Stanton will be featured at the Wild Vine, 2187 First St., Livermore from Dec. 10 to 31. An artist reception will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 10. Most drawings and paintings are drawn from life at the Figure Drawing Workshop on Friday mornings at the Bothwell Center.

Heavenly Vistas
This exhibit features photography with encaustic wax painting and encaustic landscape paintings from contemporary California artists Thea Schrack and Paula Wenzl Bellacera. Model Trains at Blackhawk Museum
The European Train Enthusiasts will be bringing their exhibition of HO Scale Model trains to the Blackhawk Museum, 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, Danville, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays, Nov. 27 to Jan. 17. With hand built miniature countrysides and an assortment of locomotives and engineers, this exhibition shows the European rail experience. The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop Holiday Store, 1987 F Santa Rita Road, is open. It features wreaths, trees, ornaments, dishes, decorator items, music, books and clothing. All proceeds go to fund research, and patient services.

Holiday Food Drive
Pleasanton CPA firm, JL Consulting is coordinating a holiday food drive benefiting people in need served by the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Food Pantry at Valley Bible Church
The Food Pantry at Valley Bible Church has open pantry hours on from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at 7106 Johnson Drive. Since opening in March 2008, the pantry has served over 200 families and passed out over 50,000 items. Local churches, scout groups, 4H clubs and schools help keep the pantry stocked. Food Pantry at Valley Bible Church
The Food Pantry at Valley Bible Church, 7106 Johnson Drive, has an open pantry from 6 to 8:30 p.m. It can be reached from Wheels route 3. It will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, but will be open the Sunday before the holidays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 22, Dec. 20 and 27. Donations of food are by Valley Bible Church, Centerpointe Church, Valley Community Church, Boy Scout Troop 941, and Pleasanton Middle School. Call 426-2492.

Computer Tutoring
One-on-one computer tutoring is available every day at the Pleasanton Senior Center. The tutor works with you on topics where you need help with no formal program to follow. Internet, Word, photo editing, etc. Cost is $1.50 an hour for residents. For an appointment, call 931-5365.

PC Users Group

Genesis will be the topic of study for the Community Bible Study Class in Pleasanton at Centerpointe Presbyterian Church, 3410 Cornerstone Court. American Red Cross Volunteer Orientation
The American Red Cross is holding a volunteer orientation from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at its Pleasanton Blood Donor Center, 5556-B Springdale Ave. Tour the center and learn about ways to greet, inform and thank our community's blood donors or help post fliers at key locations. Animal Fosters Needed
Tri-Valley Animal Rescue is looking for fosters for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. We provide training on how to be a foster, food and vet care; you provide love and a place for them to stay until they are adopted. Ongoing Volunteer Drivers Needed

Reading Volunteers Needed
If you would like to volunteer for a worthwhile cause, consider becoming a Barton Reading Tutor. No experience is necessary and training and materials are free of charge.
