Companies or groups of friends formed "dog packs" to fundraise together and walk as a team, with entry fees and donations far exceeding the society's $12,000 goal.
As a thank you, the dog pack that raised the most money was rewarded with a private Yappy Hour, sponsored by Main Street Meat and Fish.
The festival featured activities for dogs and their friends, including canine demos such as Flyball, Nosework, Rally Obedience, Disc/Frisbee and Performing Dogs; a costume contest and a talent contest.
Gourmet food trucks, pet-themed vendors, fun for the kids, and educational clinics added to the variety of options available to two-legged participants with cooling-off pools available to their four-legged friends.
