The Amador grad, Nicholas Glasco, 21, was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, along with his housemates Devin Murphy and Cheyenne Havens, both 19.
A Chico police officer cruising past the house in the 1000 block of Warner Street near the college at about 10:15 p.m. spotted the fire and watched the three run outside. The Chico Fire Department responded and put the fire out within minutes. No one was injured, but the home was severely damaged.
"We recommend that people don't try this kind of silly thing, " Chico police Sgt. Billy Aldridge told News 12, the CBS affiliate in Chico.
The three were booked into the Butte County Jail and are being held on $100,000 bonds.
