Blankets will be given to little ones in the NICU at ValleyCare MedicalCenter and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Used during their stay, the blankets will also be taken home as one of their first keepsakes.
"During this often stressful time, the quilts and blankets offer a taste of home and are cherished by each family," organizer Cleo Foster said. "The families are so grateful that someone has taken the time to make something for their baby."
The group is currently accepting donations of quilts, knitted or crocheted blankets between 24 and 36 inches. They will make deliveries each month, including one just in time for the holidays.
