Amador Valley, Foothill win pre-season openers ahead of opening day for schools today
Foothill routs Novato 52-9; Dons take Freedom 29-27

Amador Valley and Foothill high schools won their pre-season opening games Friday, giving fans a thumbs-up on an exciting sports season ahead in time for today's start of classes for the 2012-13 school year.
Foothill Falcons quarterback Kyle Kearns led the team on home turf to a 52-9 win over Novato, while the Amador Dons defeated Freedom 29-27 in a hard-fought game there.
Senior quarterback Kyle Moreno led his team to the victory over Freedom, helped when in the final minutes of the game Freedom failed in a 28-yard field goal attempt, ending the game with a 2-point spread favoring Amador.--Pleasanton Weekly staff.
