Amador Valley High teacher takes vice principal's job at Foothill
Leslie Heller, a 14-year English teacher in the Pleasanton district, to join Falcons' administration next week

Leslie Heller an English instructor and chairwoman of the English Department at Amador Valley High School, has been selected as a new vice principal at Foothill High School.
She will fill the vacancy created when Foothill vice principal Lori Vella moved to the same position at Amador.
Heller has been a teacher at Amador for the past 14 years. In addition to chairing the English Department, she taught all four levels of English. She also served as the school's Every 15 Minutes coordinator, a WASC focus group leader and as a leader of the site Equity Team.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Heller has worked as a Vice Principal for the Pleasanton district's summer school program for grades 7-12, and she was an All-District Writing Committee member.
Prior to coming to Pleasanton, she was a teacher at River City High School in West Sacramento for four years, teaching English, remedial reading and ESL classes. She also coached swimming, was an interim High School vice principal, and developed and led the high school's summer school program.--Pleasanton Weekly staff.
