All eyes on the Weekly at Kay Huff's 'Ladies' Day at the Races'

Several hundred women joined Pleasanton's fun-loving Kay Huff Thursday for her annual "Ladies' Day at the Races," celebrating the first day of horseracing at the 2012 Alameda County Fair. It looks, though, as if many missed the first race as they spent their time reading editions of the Pleasanton Weekly that just happened to be at their seats. Fortunately, the paper's race tipster Dennis Miller was on hand to make sure their bets were well placed. (See Alameda County Fair story in adjoining column.)

Being there from 1:30 (after the first race) until 3 (after the 4th race), I didn't see Jeb there. Yes, there were 200+ women in the stands, who didn't pick up their copies of the PW until after Chuck Deckert had taken the official photos after the third race. Chuck's photo for Gina's shot was included in this online puff piece.

And there is no mention of Mike Hosterman's group of a dozen men who valiantly awaited his arrival from "meditation" court.
