Pleasanton police confirm body placed in trash can was a woman
Fingerprints net no identification

 | Police and the Alameda County Coroner's Office have so far been unable to identify the woman whose body was placed inside a 45-gallon trash can and left on the side of a Pleasanton road.
An autopsy provided some additional details, according to a Pleasanton police news release.
"This morning the Alameda County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy on the body discovered yesterday," the press release stated. "The results of the autopsy have not yielded a positive identification and attempts to identify the body via fingerprints have so far been unsuccessful. The female body is believed to be an adult, however the coroner is unable to determine the age or ethnicity and the cause of death is undetermined."
Investigators determined the woman has dark-colored hair. She was clothed in pajama bottoms and an Old Navy shirt, and wore blue fingernail polish.
The woman's body was found in the trash can last Thursday along the side of the road on Dublin Canyon Road in Pleasanton.
Police received a call at about 11:30 a.m. after someone spotted the plastic trash can on the side of Dublin Canyon Road, not far from its intersection with Laurel Creek Drive, according to police Lt. Jeff Bretzing.
"Officers discovered inside the can what appear to be human remains," Bretzing said, adding the can was adjacent to the road. "We don't know how long it's been there."
The territory is nominally the jurisdiction of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, but Bretzing said Pleasanton police will remain the lead agency in the investigation.
"Nothing like this has ever happened here before," he said of the discovery.
This could be the second Pleasanton homicide inside a month. On May 7, a mother and daughter, 37-year-old Amy Freeman Burton and 13-year-old Ainsley Freeman, were found with fatal wounds at their home in the 3200 block of Stacey Court.
Preliminary results indicate that Ainsley Freeman did not shoot herself. The coroner's report said it was "unclear" whether 37-year-old Amy Freeman Burton's wound was self inflicted, adding, "that is not being ruled out."
Bullets recovered from both victims are consistent with those found in the handgun that was located near the two, one of two unregistered pistols found in a search of the home Monday night.

Three people, including 13-year-old girl, were murdered during one month in our town. Another victim was killed in a hit-and-run. Do you still feel your children are safe and you can joke about police?

Sorry that was too deep for folks like Trevor Tooze.

Resident- a word that is accurate should be left as is so the facts can be reported and your gentile little world may be disturbed. This world is cruel...even in Ptown. Perhaps you should honor the poor victim by educating yourself and anyone else who thinks like you. You have the ability to read the news or not...if the story disturbs you don't read it.
If my loved one was stuffed into a garbage can and found I would damn well want it reported a rarely so when the suspect is caught the facts are accurate....who knows and sensitive misguided loser like you may be on the suspects jury. Good luck in life...may your glass dome never be cracked.

Similarly, was the body found, discovered, espied, located, stumbled upon, bumped into, etc. ... is this not a matter of the intentional state of he/she/they who found, discovered, espied, etc?
