 | Brayden Mahdavi, 11, a player on Pleasanton Foothill Little League's AAA Red Sox team, hit a pitched ball 245 feet out of the Bernal Fields baseball park last week, becoming the first player to top the left field's 230-foot fence since the fields opened.
Mahdavi, son of Renee and Shareef Mahdavi, is in the fifth grade at Hearst Elementary School.
There have been a few inside-the-park home runs since the Bernal fields opened three years ago, but never before has an AAA player (ages 9-11) hit one over the fence. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
