Four from Pleasanton schools receive $100 stipends
Retired teachers help out their brethren

Retired teachers from the Tri-Valley are helping out their successors.
Four staffers from Pleasanton received $100 stipends, courtesy of the Tri-Valley Branch of the California Retired Teacher Association.
They are:
Beth Christensen, a counselor at Foothill High School; who will use the money to buy intervention posters;
Ellen Gardner of Pleasanton Middle School, to buy garden supplies for severely learning disabled students;
Cindy McDonalds, also of PMS, who will buy books for under-performing students; and,
Susan Wells of Fairlands Elementary School, to buy three spell checkers.
Eleven other Tri-Valley teachers also received the stipends. Dublin teachers are Irene Fong of Dougherty Elementary School, Trisha Hahn of Kolb Elementary School, Lorrin Harris of Fallon Middle School and Sam Shiell of Dublin Elementary School
Teachers from the Livermore Joint Unified School District are Vicki Lemek of Sunset Elementary School, Katelyn Medina of Christensen Middle School, Susan Ortner of Livermore High School, Elizabeth Price of Jackson Elementary School, Denise Watson-Lum of Granada High School and Jennifer Weise of Livermore High School.
