Oh man. With how over-policed this city is I think it's somewhat humorous that they left on foot and didn't get caught.

Now that they've added another bank to Main Street's stocks, it's really one-stop shopping for bank robbers.

Classic.

Wonder if the bank teller is in on the scheme.

Robbing banks this seems way too easy.

No silent alarm? No security guard?

By time police would get there, already too late.

A bank robbery is traumatic for the innocent people that are involved. I hope the robbers are caught and punished.

Recent Jennifer Hosterman quote: "We have...strengthened public safety,..."

Let's see, since she made that statement, there's been an armed robbery (last Thursday afternoon at Longs Drugs on Santa Rita Rd. and Rosewood), and now this bank robbery yesterday afternoon.

That's strengthening public safety?

I would say this is a sign of the economic times we are living in, not lack of "strengthened public safety."

First of all, I hope they get caught and get put in jail for 20 years or more. Second I don't believe robbery is a laughing matter because they could have had weapons or have been mentally unstable and could have hurt everyone in the bank. Pleasanton Police hopefully are still looking for them and not worrying about drivers speeding.

I worked at Wells Fargo through the college days and bank robberies are no joke. Most of the ones I saw were plain notes to the teller and he's outta there, which would scare the hell out of the poor teller. I've been in one takeover involving three men with large machine gun looking weapons and ski masks; those are the worst of all and will leave a lifetime impression on all those involved.

As to blaming the mayor and the police, that's just silly talk in a political season. The police have a hell of a job to do. They can be a deterrent and investigators but you can't expect them to be in every bank or on every corner, even if we expanded the force to 10 times larger.

There are many cities and towns that wish they had the very low crime rate we do, just head west over the hills to see a few. As a matter of fact here's a story of one on the other side of the country who have a real crime problem, read it and count your blessings: Web Link .

Want to stop crime? Arm yourselves. The police will be there to take your statement after the crime is committed. I don't mind the guy across from me at Starbucks is carrying concealed so long as he isn't a criminal. I DO mind when the only guy at Starbucks with a gun IS a CRIMINAL.
