| The Houserockers an 11-piece rock 'n' roll band played to a full house Friday as part of the Concerts in the Park series.
The Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation sponsored the Aug. 1 concenter. The PCAF is a non-profit organization that is taking the lead role in securing private funds, corporate donations and foundation grants to support the construction of the Firehouse Arts Center in downtown Pleasanton and to fund ongoing arts activities there.
The PDA, Pleasanton Weekly and Zzippies are sponsors of the summertime concert series. Every week there is at least a dozen gifts provided by local merchants given at the concert. Those wanting to join in the gift giveaway at the concert can obtain coupons in Friday's Weekly. The coupons are printed at the bottom of the PDA's promotional advertisement of its concert series.
This Friday, Aug. 8, Finding Stella will bring classic rock and pop spirit of the 70's and 80's, with a bit of newer, warmer rock quality that draws huge crowds from along the West coast and beyond. This concert is sponsored by Your Stage, Inc.
And, if you like the Houserockers, you'll get to hear them again the following Wednesday when they perform at the First Wednesday Street Party in downtown Pleasanton Aug. 6.
