| Hundreds of women donned their most fashionable attire for a chance to get within a stone's throw of Sarah Jessica Parker, who was at Stoneridge Shopping Center this afternoon signing her perfume bottles.
The "Sex and the City" star was promoting her perfume line, Lovely. She made two earlier appearances in San Francisco this week and then made the trek out to Pleasanton, which she told at least one reporter was "rural" but very nice.
Mostly females crowded the first floor of the women's Macy's store at Stoneridge, but there was a smattering of men. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Posted by Chris, a member of the Mohr Elementary School community, on Jul 19, 2008 at 7:05 am Funny that we never read about events like this until after the fact - my wife would have loved to have gone. Is there someplace that highlights upcoming notable appearances etc before they happen? Did I just miss the PW article before the event?

Posted by Mike, a resident of the Highland Oaks neighborhood, on Jul 20, 2008 at 3:27 pm I have never been enthusiastic about stars showing up to plug their brands, and "Rural, but nice" is a good example of why. If you want to increase sales, you've got to know how to work the crowd. Showing your disdain for the target demographic is dumb and annoying, a real ice-maker.
