 | The Amador Valley High School freshmen boys soccer team won the 13th Annual Monte Vista Diablo Classic tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend at Monte Vista High School in Danville.
A total of 16 teams from the greater Bay area competed over two days. But despite steady rains and muddy conditions, the Dons stormed their way through pool play, topping De La Salle 2-0, Dublin 6-0, and Deer Valley 3-2.
The Dons then went on to clinch the championship with a 5-0 win over James Logan, conceding only two goals the entire tournament and outscoring their opponents 16-1.Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
