The Amador Valley Dons will host the Foothill Falcons tonight in the city's annual cross-town football competition.
The game was moved from its Friday schedule to honor Veterans Day. The local Veterans of Foreign Wars color guard will make a special appearance before the start of the game. The event will get under way at 7 p.m. on the Amador Valley field.
Last Friday, Amador Valley nudged the visiting San Ramon Valley Wolves 24-21. In their clash with Foothill, the Dons will attempt to move on their 4-5 season record. The Falcons enter the bout with a 5-4 record after their 49-7 league loss to California High, also last Friday. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? Yup, exactly what you said: Web Link
Looks like they are using the cover of Veterans Day when talking to The Weekly to explain the change when it is only because of furloughs. Why the doublespeak though?

We wish Max a quick recovery. Foothill dominated the game with some great running from Touchdown Tommy and Vos getting it done. Score 31 to 6. (i think?) Good job Foothill Freshmen. Keep up the good work.

Posted by Mike Cheney, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Nov 12, 2010 at 10:31 am Well I was a little off on the Freshmen score, i should have said 48 to 13. Oops!
Last night was very fun to watch and great to see all the hoopla from the teams and fans. Foothill squeaks out a win on both the games. Great job from all. Great to see the town come together in one place like that.
