City seeks to fill open commission, committee seats
Applications can be turned in through Friday

Interested in the arts, economic vitality, parks or the library? There are a number of vacancies on city commissions and committees concerning these such topics.

Openings include seats on: the Civic Arts Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Human Services Commission, Library Commission and Youth Commission. On the city's Economic Vitality Committee, seats are available for representatives for commercial services, biomedical business, environmental and telecommunications.

The city is also accepting applications for vacancies on the Youth Master Plan Implementation Committee, including: a nonprofit agency representative, senior citizen representative, health and crisis representative, Village High School representative (two), Harvest Park Middle School representative, Pleasanton Middle School representative, and a parent at-large each from preschool-, elementary- and high school levels.

Applications are available at the City Clerk's office, 123 Main St. or on the city's Web site, www.ci.pleasanton.ca.us. Those interested in serving on a commission or committee that currently doesn't have open seats are encouraged to complete an interest card on the city Web site or from the City Clerk's office. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday.

Here's an opportunity for all of you Pleasanton Weekly bloggers with lots of time on your hands and lots of opinions about anything and everything. Make yourselves useful and actually participate in a constructive way in the community. Oh, maybe not so much fun if you can't be anonymous?
