Truck kills Pleasanton pedestrian in Dublin
Second jaywalking fatality on Dublin Blvd. in two months

Bookmark and Share
A Pleasanton resident was killed around 6:30 p.m. Monday when she was crossing Dublin Boulevard east of Regional Street in Dublin.

Lt. Glenn Moon of Dublin Police Services identified her as Harve Stroy who lived on Muirwood Drive.

He said she appeared to have taken the bus from her home to Dublin. There instead of entering a crosswalk, Moon said she allegedly jaywalked. She made it to the median, but was struck by an Izusu truck being driven by a Hayward man.

Stroy was transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and was pronounced dead.

Moon said the driver was cooperative with police and won't be charged. Witnesses reported seeing the man swerve in an attempt to avoid the woman.

While typically not viewed as dangerous to pedestrians, Moon said it is the second jaywalking fatality on Dublin Boulevard in two months.

Hmmm. . . I feel that there is something that wants to evolve from this statement.

My condolences go out to her children. I grew up down the street from the Stroy's and Mrs. Stroy was a very sweet woman. God bless.
