| The lockdown of Village High School and the Pleasanton Unified School District offices was called off at 11:05 a.m. after a campus search led police to believe there was no credible threat, according to district spokeswoman Myla Grasso.
The offices and school were placed under lockdown since around 9 a.m. after the school received a threatening phone call. Grasso said the threat alluded to a potential shooting.
Officers are said to remain on campus throughout the day as the offices and school resume normal schedules. However, the investigation pertaining to the threatening call is continuing.
During the lockdown, police barricaded points of entry of the campus at 4665 Bernal Ave., only granting access to district employees. Grasso added that the other schools were notified of the situation, but were not under lockdown.
This is the second lockdown that the school district has faced this school year, the first being at Amador Valley High Oct. 15.
The threatening call reportedly came in at 9:11, according to police, but it was unknown if there was any significance to that.
"We're sitting here on lockdown right now," said Dennis Miller, a sports personality for TV30, around 10:45 a.m.
The community news channel's office is on the adjacent to the district offices, which also houses the Village High School campus.
"At around 9 a.m. we got a call from Pleasanton's finest (the Pleasanton Police Department) to lock the doors and stay inside," Miller said. Janet Pelletier contributed to this story. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Posted by Former Student, a member of the Village High School community, on Dec 5, 2007 at 10:19 am (Comment partially removed by Pleasanton Weekly Online staff) Yes, there are some that can’t be helped by the school but it has helped so many more. I graduated from Village and couldn’t have imagined a better school. The kids at Amador were not people I wanted to be around and they were very unforgiving of people’s differences and feelings. (I am saying from my experience. I am not putting down everyone at Amador and I know there are good people) I was going through some things and didn’t go to school often. Amador had given up on me and had NO resources to help kids who needed it most. Village gave me the opportunity to turn my life around and I was able to graduate with my class. They have teachers that are caring and understanding and support the students. It is sad to see how many people have negative views on the school just because the kids are different. You say “Misguided youth comes from misguided parents” but it is people like you that judge a book by its cover and don’t give people a chance.

Bob, obviously you are perfect and if you have kids (the poor souls) they are perfect too. Ah, what a feeling that must be...Well guess what...That schools has helped kids who have been given up on...Shame on you for that..But I forgot, your perfect. Hmm....

My son goes there. Regarding the incident that surrounded the closure. Where is the 'Girlfriends Parents' in all this? They may want to be a little more engaged / influential in their daughter's life. Obviously she needs some stern guidance and *common sense* in whom she chooses to be her boyfriend. To the Parents of the daughter; take this situation as a *wake up call* so to be not added to the number of parents that are often interviewed after such related tragedies saying " How can this have happened, I wished I had known…” or “I should have-could have been involved in my child's life”.
