 | Video of local artist Gary Winter painting the mural that now graces the side of Strizzi's restaurant on Main Street is up on YouTube.com. His son compiled shots of the progress, turning the months-long project into a minute and 16 seconds.
Winter also created another work of art--a children's coloring book featuring drawings of historical Pleasanton landmarks. The books are on sale for $7.95 at the Museum On Main Street, 603 Main St.

Posted by Steve, a resident of Livermore, on Nov 30, 2007 at 9:55 am I have never liked the mural since day one. None of it is in perspective, there is no horse track that close to the hills and it looks like it was done by kids. How much did the city pay to have this put up?

Posted by Becky Dennis, a resident of the Foxborough Estates neighborhood, on Dec 1, 2007 at 2:11 am I like the mural a lot, and enjoy looking at it. It has a folk art quality that seems appropriate for the location. The fact that it's not overly sophisticated helps me to not notice the door too much.

Posted by unknown, a resident of the Pleasanton Heights neighborhood, on Dec 2, 2007 at 11:00 pm As someone who has lived in Pleasanton all my life, and who's family has lived here since it was the small town represented in the mural, the mural represents what used to be and people need to respect that and take it for what it's worth. It is a great piece of artwork and is a great representation of what Pleasanton was once like. I, for one, wish it was more like the mural.

Posted by southbay reader, a resident of another community, on Dec 3, 2007 at 9:20 pm I liked the video. That was cool! Also, the mural is a nice touch
to a boring blank wall. Would like to see more in town. Thank you...
