Orville Nightingale, Pleasanton's oldest living man, recently celebrated his 103rd birthday with daughter Marilyn and grandsons Shane and Ryan at Ridgeview Commons, where he was one of the first residents to move in when the senior apartment complex first opened. Nightingale, who has fished with Harry Truman and danced with Ginger Rogers, said he enjoys living in Pleasanton, playing cards and reading the newspaper. When asked the secret to his longevity, he responded, "breathing in and out." Daughter Marilyn adds that Nightingale has a great sense of humor. He is considered the oldest living DeMolay, a youth men's organization in which he was an original member of.
