Four burglary suspects were caught with help from the very items they were stealing: equipment from a video surveillance store.

Vigilant Video and Darim, two businesses located at 4511 Willow Road, notified police of a break-in Aug. 26 where a large volume of computer and electronic equipment valued at $50,000 was missing. Employees at Vigilant Video reviewed recorded surveillance footage that clearly depicted four suspects carrying arm loads of property from both businesses, according to police. The video showed the suspects allegedly breaking in at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 25 and returning for more items at 5:45 a.m. the next morning.

After being recognized by a Pleasanton detective, police identified one alleged burglar as Jason McHugh, a 27-year-old Alamo resident. Police said he hasn't been arrested yet, but is wanted for felony burglary and two outstanding arrest warrants.

Photos of the suspects were circulated among nearby police departments and led to the arrest of Thomas Daly, 29, of Concord.

A search warrant issued Sept. 4 led to the arrests of Tracy Martin, 48, and Ronald Alvarez, 46, both of Alamo. During the search, police said some of the stolen property was recovered.

If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of McHugh, contact the Pleasanton Police Department at 931-5100.
