After about a two-month investigation, officers from the special investigation unit of the Pleasanton Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man Thursday for allegedly providing drugs to Amador Valley High School students. Two handguns were also taken from the man's residence in the 3200 block of West Las Positas Boulevard.

Sgt. Barry Mickleburgh said police confiscated a quarter ounce of cocaine, over 100 ecstasy tablets and just over 3 ounces of meth. He said the amount was significant because one dosage of meth is one-tenth of a gram and 1 ounce is worth about $900 and has 28.5 grams.

Police obtained information to believe that the man, Paul White, had endangered a minor on 35 separate occasions and furnished or offered a minor ecstasy or meth on another 15 occasions. The report said endangering a minor includes, but is not limited to, selling and/or purchasing drugs in the presence of a minor.

Mickleburgh said the specific contact made with high school students in each instance was unclear, but said White had shown up on a high school campus after being introduced to a female student. He also had reportedly given her rides.

"While we know of at least one incident we're hoping that when parents and students see the press release, they may have more information and call us with that," he said.

Mickleburgh said the drugs seized at White's residence are the most commonly used by high school students.

"We don't typically see meth on campus," he said. "There are a lot of reports of ecstasy, but alcohol seems to be the drug of choice, along with marijuana."
