|
Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank in Livermore on Thursday afternoon and are asking the public for assistance in identifying him.
At about 1:30 p.m., a man demanded money from a teller at a Citibank branch located at 2150 Portola Ave. and indicated he had a gun, police said.
The suspect then fled the bank. The amount of cash stolen has not been released and the suspect has not been located, according to police.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white man between 25 and 30 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build, weighing between 220 and 250 pounds, police said.
He had brown or red sideburns with a light mustache and goatee, according to witnesses interviewed by police.
He was wearing a red baseball hat with a black bill, dark sunglasses, and a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery. The suspect indicated that he had a gun, but no weapon was seen, police said.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact police at (925) 580-9665 or call anonymously to (925) 371-4790.Hannah Albarazi, Bay City News — Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Posted by shannon, a resident of the Stoneridge Orchards neighborhood, on Mar 25, 2013 at 9:01 am Banks should change their open door policy to more like the credit unions. Keep doors locked and people must be buzzed in, no sunglasses, or hats or the door does not open. Then maybe a picture could be snapped when the door is unlocked just in case.

Wondering, if these robberies "fabricated" by current employee, ex-employee??? Anything can be possible.

Posted by Nut Cracker, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Mar 26, 2013 at 9:18 am We are getting a bank robbery in the Tri-Valley about once/week now. It's just a matter of time until bank employees or customers get shot. The banks in the Tri-Valley need to take these robberies a lot more seriously. Rarely to we hear of any of these perps getting aprehended.
