Body found at Pleasanton Garbage Company transfer station
Employee finds deceased man among cardboard recyclables

Pleasanton police are investigating the discovery of a man's body at the garbage transfer station late Tuesday morning.

The body was discovered among cardboard recyclables by an employee, and police secured the scene pending the arrival of detectives.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, although a preliminary investigation indicates the death may be accidental. The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

The body was discovered at about 11:45 a.m. at the transfer station, 3110 Busch Road. Police contacted the Alameda County Crime Lab to help process evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pleasanton Police Department at 931-5100.

@mmmh hmmm whats your problem with the reporting? Our lical community papers do a decent job of reporting events in our area. its not like they have dedicated crime reporters shadowing the police. I didnt see any of the network news stations covering this any earlier.

Hopefully they can identify the deceased and notify family soon.

You live on the street and fall asleep/pass out in the recycle dumpster. You are then picked up the next morning and crushed. Not the first time either.

That's a good idea- build more homeless shelters- are you crazy? Build it and THEY will come !! Lets give them vouchers too, that's what we need more strangers running around town, things have been getting bad enough already, batten down the hatches!
