It's 'Spare the Air Day' again today
Continued bad weather predictions lead Air Quality District to issue fireplace ban for 2nd day
|
A second Spare the Air Day has been called for today, banning the burning of wood and solid fuel, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
The winter season's first Spare the Air Day was on New Year's Day, and continued bad weather predictions have led the district to call for a
second day.
On Spare the Air Days in the winter season, it is illegal to burn wood inside or outside, manufactured fire logs, and any other solid fuel, district officials said.
Homes without heating other than wood stoves are exempt from the ban, however.
Penalties for violating the ban include fines and mandatory wood smoke awareness classes.
The Winter Spare the Air season runs from Nov. 1 to Feb. 28.— Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

How does this make sense in the mind of even the most dillusional, controlling, liberal zealot?

Posted by Truth, a resident of the Birdland neighborhood, on Jan 3, 2013 at 6:04 pm I have burned wood in my fireplace for the last 10 spare the air days.....where the hell is my ticket? I can't wait for the smarmy little tree hugger to knock. On my door....or more likely mail my ticket....when I don't pay I wonder if I will be arrested?
