A Livermore man is recovering after being stabbed in an altercation at around 9 p.m. Wednesday night at Las Ventanas apartments in the 3800 block of Vineyard Avenue.
The 30-year-old man, who was not identified, suffered a single stab wound to the chest and was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley. The injury is non-life threatening.
Police received several 911 calls to the scene. Initial reports indicate that two men began arguing with each other and started fighting, a news release said.
Sometime during the course of the fight the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim one time and then fled on foot, according to the report.
The suspect is a 33-year-old male. He was described as a Hispanic male adult with black hair and brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt or jacket and blue jeans.
While police say the two men knew each other, they have not been able to determine what led to the fight.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who may have witnessed the crime or who has information relating to it is asked to call the Pleasanton Police Department at 931-5100.
