A Dublin elementary school was on lockdown for about an hour Tuesday while police searched for three suspected burglars who were eventually arrested, Dublin police said.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle driving near Southwick Drive and Bloomington Way around 11:45 a.m. and noticed a
parked vehicle on Rhoda Avenue with a smashed window, police said.

This prompted officers to check around nearby homes. Officers noticed an open side gate at one residence and headed into that backyard where they spotted three suspects fleeing from the yard, according to police.

Two of the three suspects were taken into custody immediately but the third alluded officers, police said.

A perimeter was set up with the Alameda County Sheriff's canine unit and the third suspected burglar was found on the 8300 block of Vomac Road, less than a mile away, police said.

During the search, nearby Dublin Elementary School at 7997 Vomac Road was placed on lockdown for about 60 minutes until all the suspects were
in custody, police said.

The three men arrested on burglary charges were all 19-year-old San Francisco residents identified as Jayvonn McGolthen, Dennis Windham, and Edwin Tobie, police said.

They were each booked at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on $100,000 bail, according to Alameda County sheriff's records.

Dublin police services are provided under a contract with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
