If you like working with your hands, this is the place to be, at a forum for middle and high school students showing potential careers in construction trades.

Students and their parents are invited to learn about apprenticeships as carpenters, cement masons and other building trades at an event this evening.

The program is sponsored by the Pleasanton school district, in conjunction with Dublin, Livermore and Sunol districts and the Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program.

Representatives from apprenticeship programs in the building will be on hand to do presentations related to career opportunities and to answer questions.

Presentations may include potential careers as carpenter, millwrights, pile drivers, cement masons, roofers and ironworkers, to name a few. During the evening, demonstrations and tours of the Carpenters Training Center will be conducted.

The event will be held at the training center auditorium, 2350 Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton, between Mohr Avenue and Stoneridge Drive, from 6 to 8 p.m. It’s free to students, parents, teachers and administrators, and no registration is necessary.
