A Granite Bay woman led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase covering more than 100 miles Friday morning before she was finally stopped in Sunol.

And this all happened in late morning rush hour traffic.

CHP officers first attempted to stop the speeding green 2005 Ford Expedition around 9:10 a.m. in West Sacramento on westbound I-80 near Reed Avenue, said CHP Officer Steve Creel. The driver failed to stop and continued west at a high rate of speed toward the Bay Area.

CHP officials tracked the speeding SUV via helicopter as it traveled from I-80 to southbound I-680 and south to Fremont. In Fremont, the vehicle turned around at Durham Road and traveled north again on I-680.

CHP officers used a spike strip to stop the vehicle near Koopman Road in Sunol, Creel said.

Jennifer Zinn, 44, was arrested and taken to the Dublin CHP office for evaluation.

There is no obvious indication that she was intoxicated at this time, but tests will be conducted, Creel said. Zinn’s motive for allegedly fleeing remains unknown.

No other vehicles were involved in the pursuit and no one was injured, Creel said.

  1. LOL, it took CHP almost 2hrs to put down a tire strip to stop her! Guess state is rich in budget for helicopters, vehicles and officers! Needless to say public safety.

  2. Obviously she is a disoriented union activist. Recently flew from S. Korea where thousands demonstrated against Walmart’s use of subcontractors to child sweatshop/slave labor. Then hopped on a bus at LaGuardia to join in New York ChinaTown’s protest of a Walmart. Then bussed across country in a frenzy looking first for the Walmart protest bus in Redlands, then the one in Sacramento, then the really really big one that’s going to deliver thousands of union slime protesters in Pleasant. Unable to find any of them, she thought getting arrested would impress her union bosses.

  3. Arnie, you are not all there. If it weren’t for unions, you wouldn’t have a well paying job. Oh I’m sorry, you don’t have a well paying job because you work for Wal Mart.

  4. I do know that we’re about to be innundated by corrupt union thugs and greedy public workers calling for more taxpayer giveaways. I bet if not many union “people” show up for the community meeting it will be because they’ve all been arrested either for speeding or pooping in libertarians’ pick-up trucks. See origamitsunamiwarnings.com if you want to take back this country.

  5. Jesse, no one is entitled to “high paying’ jobs. Unions, as a whole, are counter productive. Not saying they dont have a need or use, but the seem to protect the true laggards of society. Their bent with WalMart is mind boggling. The other 97% of us are little tired of your BS. Move forward with proof that Walmart treats their employees ant differently than target, home depot et al, or stop winning. Why don’t you start you own”peoples” store…..see how long you guys last.

  6. Yet another display of the heroes in action. To all the liberal idiots who criticize our heroes you should be ashamed of yourselves. These men and women in blue place their own safety second to that of the community every day. Until you Prius driving idiots have done that , shut your pie holes. Great job CHP and surrounding agencies who showed amazing restraint to bring this chase to a safe conclusion…be proud of yourselves and ignore the tools who posted above.
