Pleasanton school board, City Council meet together tonight

Joint meeting will include look at future school enrollment

The Pleasanton school board and City Council will hold a joint meeting starting at 7 p.m. tonight in the school board's meeting room, 4665 Bernal Ave.

The two agencies will discuss the results of "Youth in Government Day" held on Feb. 20, the city's drought emergency declaration and what it means for the school district, and school district finances.

Also to be discussed will be the recent projections for future enrollment in Pleasanton schools, based on a report by Davis Demographics & Planning.

The meeting is open to the public and will include an opportunity for public comments at its start.

I wonder if they are going to ever do anything about the abusive amount of homework that teachers are (still!) loading up on kids.

I personally know at least 2 families who have seriously discussed moving out of town or going with home schooling.

We are sick of having 3 hour homework nights that destroy family harmony and leave kids so burned out they won't even consider college.

The ridiculous home work and the Saturday sessions for kids who have better things to do then home work are a total ruse. The union teachers just cram the home ork down are throats in order to find reasons to fail some kids why there own are treated with favoritism. All this would stop if it wasn't for the incompetant unions.

Linda and Mary should redo their speech from last week's schoolboard meeting to let the city council know how concerned citizens should be about ptown schools and the Superintendant who is taking them over a cliff.......

It looks like AntiUnion is also AntiGrammar and AntiSpelling. Clearly, (s)he is AntiHomework. I wonder if (s)he is AntiDiploma and AntiIntellect as well. AntiCollege? AntiResponsibility? If AntiUnion is so AntiEducation, perhaps they should consider homeschooling. On second thought, I think the whole AntiSpelling and AntiGrammar matter may present itself as a problem.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
