All lanes open after big-rig fire on I-580 in Pleasanton

Traffic backed up for miles after 6 a.m. fire blocked westbound lanes

The California Highway Patrol has canceled a Sig-alert on westbound I-580 near Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton after a big-rig fire this morning, but not before westbound traffic backed up to the Altamont Pass.

The fire was initially reported around 6 a.m. during the start of the Monday morning rush hour.

Even with the lanes cleared, traffic remained at a standstill, slowly starting to move at 7:30 a.m.
