A Pleasanton liquor store had its liquor license suspended
Thursday for selling alcohol to an underage person for the third time in three years, according to the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Perry's Liquor, located at 4301 Valley Ave., can no longer sell
alcohol until the store is either sold or the new owner reapplies for a license to sell alcohol. The store also has the option of transferring the license to a different business, ABC spokesman John Carr said.
According to the beverage control department, a clerk at the store sold alcohol to an 18-year-old woman who then left the business and gave it to a 15-year-old waiting outside.
This is the store's third violation in the last three years, and
the fifth violation in eight years, the department said.
The store employee and the 18-year-old were issued misdemeanor
citations for the sale, and a report of the violation has been forwarded to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, the department said.
