Two-part series starts tonight at Dublin facility

The Tri-Valley YMCA will host a two-part community forum beginning tonight to provide a resource for parents in preventing and talking to their kids about sexual abuse.

The first part of the this series is titled "Stolen Innocence" and will focus on dealing with sexual abuse when allegations rise in the community.

This forum will consist of several experts in the field, who will give advice to parents and community members, and take questions from the audience.

Experts include Kelly O'Lague Dulka, a therapist and expert in child sexual abuse, Tonya Richardson, a curriculum developer of safe environments for children, Terrie Light, and adult survivor of child sexual abuse, and representatives from local law enforcement.

Tonight's program will run from 7-8:30 p.m. A second presentation will be held Dec. 21st from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Both will be at the Tri-Valley YMCA, 6693 Sierra Lane, Suite F, Dublin.

The second part of the series, which will focus on prevention, is planned for the end of January.
