Bowser to announce bid for county office

Kickoff event Nov. 25

Pleasanton School Board President Jeff Bowser will announce his candidacy for the office of Alameda County Superintendent of Schools at a kick-off event set for Nov. 25 in Hayward.

The county superintendent is an elected position, heading the Alameda County Office of Education, which serves the 18 school districts and more than 400 schools in the county.

San Leandro City Councilmember Ursula Reed has also announced a bid for the office.

Sheila Jordan, who's been in the position since 1999 is considering retirement in 2014.

Bowser was elected to the Pleasanton School Board in 2010.

Is this for real? The guy that sent parents an email telling them they could not speak at the board meeting to support Mr. Vranesh is now going to run for county office? Great timing Jeff! I think you will find serious opposition from Walnut Grove parents though. My advise is, treat people with a little more respect before looking for their votes. (And that picture is not helping either.)
