It's Veterans Day: Stores open, government closed

Tri-Valley schools, post offices, city halls shut

Today is a federal holiday observing Veterans Day.

All schools in Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley are closed along with federal state, county and local government agencies.

Retails centers, however, expecting one of their busiest shopping days of the year as Christmas sales get underway.

Post offices are also closed so there will be no mail pick-ups or deliveries today.

It's also a day to fly the flag.
