Larry Tietmeyer, formerly the principal at Bella Vista Christian Academy in Tracy, was named Monday as the new principal of Our Savior Lutheran School in Livermore.
In his new position, Tietmeyer will manage all personnel and operations of the kindergarten-through-eighth grade school, the school's after-school care program, as well as supervise the director of the its preschool program. He will start July 1.
Tietmeyer has 40 years in elementary education, including 35 years as a principal. He retired from Bella Vista in 2010, but since then served for a time as interim principal position at a Lutheran school in San Lorenzo.
When Tietmeyer assumes the principal's position at Our Savior, two teachers who have been serving as associate principals while a search was under way will resume their teaching duties full-time.
Tietmeyer will be at Our Savior Lutheran Schoool tomorrow night to meet parents, students and staff.
