The Pleasanton Civic Arts Commission will consider recommending the appointment of Sandra Harrison Kay as the city's new poet laureate when it meets at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8 in the City Council chambers. Kay writes a blog at WriteousMom.com and also writes for the Pleasanton Patch. She would succeed Cynthia Bryant, who resigned as poet laureate last August. The city's poet laureate receives no remuneration, but is eligible to be reimbursed for any expenses related to the position not to exceed $2,000.
