The Pleasanton school district is gearing up for a possible strike by bus drivers for physically-challenged students.
The strike by Durham bus drivers could start today depending on a vote last night, although the union has not yet announced the results of that vote.
The Pleasanton school district long ago eliminated regular school bus service in the community.
"It is the district's intent to transport the students affected by the strike either on district buses or vans," said school Superintendent Parvin Ahmadi in a letter to parents. "You will be notified Wednesday morning if there is any change to your student's transportation that will occur as a result of this strike."
Those willing and able to provide transportation for their children are asked to email Lynn Novak at email@example.com. Novak also is available to answer questions at 426-4404.
Coincidentally, today also is Walk and Roll to School Day for many of the district's schools.
