The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for
hills in the East Bay and the North Bay through the early morning hours today.
Winds are expected to shift to offshore flow, bringing warm, dry, strong winds from the interior to the coast.
The fire danger will be extreme in the Point Reyes National
Seashore and Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County.
All wood and charcoal fires, including grills, are banned in the
Point Reyes National Seashore, National Park Service spokeswoman Jennifer Chapman said.
Self-contained gas stoves are permitted at designated campgrounds and picnic areas. All previously-issued fire permits will be null and void, smoking will be prohibited on all park trails and backcountry areas, and Mt. Vision Road will be closed to all vehicle traffic.
