Police Log: Woman arrested for abusing father

Arrest takes place on Owens Drive

A Pleasanton woman has been charged with elder abuse involving her 89-year-old father.

Janice Yvonne Moss, 52, was arrested after her mother called a sister in another town to complain about the abuse; that woman, in turn, contacted Pleasanton police.

Police were told that there was both physical and verbal abuse as well as threats.

The call to the 5600 block of Owens Drive came in at 11:16 a.m.; Moss was booked into the Santa Rita Jail and was ordered held on $50,000 bail.

Last week the Pleasanton Police Department also listed the following information in its log of incident reports. Under the law, those charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.

Malls are notorious for attracting crime. You get employee thefts (embezzlement), shoplifting (petty theft), shoplifting with a prior theft conviction (felony theft), stolen cars, burglarized cars, kids fighting, and vandalism. Go to any community in America with a mall, and unfortunately, you will find this to be the case. I feel sorry for the cop who has to work with this beat, because they probably spend their entire shift there handling the calls.
