The Pleasanton Downtown Association is joining forces with the Pleasanton Weekly, the city of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce to promote to residents the value of shopping locally and to create a powerful website with information on all local businesses.
Laura Olson, the PDA's executive director, said that any business with a physical address in Pleasanton is eligible to participate in the program, which is free and includes a business listing and many other free marketing tools.
"Businesses can link to their website, upload photos, make offers, promote sales and events, sell online gift certificates, offer coupons and receive and respond to customer comments," she said. "A unique news feed shows what other Pleasanton businesses are doing on the site."
ShopPleasanton.com will launch to the public in March with extensive promotion in the Weekly, which will give it unique and high visibility within the community.
"So make sure you get your business activated and start taking advantage of this new service," Olson said in a message to PDA members. "Just go to ShopPleasanton.com and click on 'Add Your Business.'"
