An adult bicyclist, believed to be in his 30s, was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Dublin late yesterday, California Highway Patrol Officer Jeff Serena reported.
According to reports, the bicyclist, who was headed south on Camino Tasajara, was struck from behind by a car driven by a 40-year-old Cupertino woman. With the cyclist pinned beneath her car, the driver then lost control of the vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic, where her car was hit broadside by another vehicle. The Cupertino woman suffered serious injuries in the crash, police said.
The accident happened at Tassajara and Shadow Hill Drive at about 5:10 p.m., Serena said.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the collision is under investigation by the CHP. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
