The "well dressed" man believed to have robbed the Washington Mutual on Main Street Oct. 30, as well as two banks in Campbell, has been arrested according to Campbell police.
Numan Pinarli, a 22-year-old resident of Mountain View, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Nov. 14 at his residence.
While police wouldn't say if Pinarli admitted to the robberies, Cpt. Greg Finch said they felt confident that he was the robber based on evidence and consistent statements.
Surveillance cameras from each incident showed a man in a buttoned shirt and tie with a knitted cap. The identity of the suspect was progressively clearer with the images captured by the banks.
Finch also said the news of the first Cambpell bank robbery may have gone unnoticed because it was so close to Election Day. However, once the second Campbell bank was robbed Nov. 10, they had a tipster call the same day.
Pinarli is being held at Santa Clara County Jail on $100,000 bail.
