While Pleasanton isn't one of the number of cities dealing with wildfires, it is affected in in the way of air quality.
News reports say that more than 800 wildfires are burning in Northern California. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued a smoke advisory in the region due to the widespread smoke.
Residents affected by smoke are advised to:
* reduce exposure to smoky air by remaining indoors with windows and doors closed
* set air conditioning units and car vent systems to recirculate
* limit outdoor activities to avoid unnecessary exposure
Stronger on-shore winds today are expected to help disperse the smoke, the district said.
