Pleasantonians 4 Peace will again sponsor a candlelight vigil in front of the Museum on Main Street in downtown Pleasanton to reflect on the war.
It will be held at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, April 16.
The group will reflect on the human and monetary costs of the war, honor veterans who have sacrificed and visualize ways of moving beyond the conflict toward peace. Gatherers are asked to bring a votive candle in a paper cup.
"We are planning to continue a monthly event as long as necessary," said Fred Norman, who was one of the organizers of the vigil held March 19, on the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq. Norman also attends City Council meetings, where he asks for a moment of silences for troops.
