The 9-month-old Pleasanton boy brought to ValleyCare Medical Center March 29 with a severe head injury remains in the hospital, but is now breathing on his own, according to police.
No one has been charged as the boy's condition remains critical after emergency brain surgery.
According to police, the boy's babysitter brought him to the hospital because he was vomiting and unresponsive. Police said it was determined that the boy was suffering from head trauma. He was transferred to Children's Medical Center in Oakland and reportedly was in surgery shortly after arrival.
Det. Dirk Hooper with the Pleasanton Police Department said the boy had a brain injury and they are continuing the investigation of how the boy was injured.
