Officer Kenneth Baxter, a 38-year-old resident of the Pleasanton Meadows neighborhood, was charged last week with a felony for threatening an officer.
The charges stem from a standoff incident in mid-June at his home that required two SWAT teams. Neighbors were evacuated from their homes at 3 a.m.
Police were called the evening of June 13 and negotiations lasted nine hours as police communicated with him through a closed front door, even though Lt. Darrin Davis said they had authority to gain forced entry. He was arrested around 7 a.m. that morning.
