(January 06, 2006) Is it OK for the government to listen to phone conversations without a court order?

Yes, I think that today, with what's going on it's acceptable. I feel there is a risk of violating individual rights, but I'm willing to accept it right now.

No, I don't think it is a good idea. There are already camera's everywhere watching you, I don't want people listening to my phone conversations. I don't want to be part of the system.
Robbie Anderson
Dublin
No way. It's an invasion of our privacy and they need a warrant to do that. Why would they treat citizens like criminals for no reason.
Audrey Garland
Livermore
I think if they feel that someone is doing something illegal or involved in terrorist activity, I don't have a problem with it. If you've got nothing to hide, it shouldn't be a problem.
Heidi Brewer

Yes, I feel it is okay when national security is concerned. I think without that we would have more terrorist attacks in the United States.
