Corrections
(January 06, 2006) In the article "AVID aims to help 'academic middle'" from the Dec. 30, 2005 issue, Melinda Ballard was incorrectly identified as a teacher at Amador Valley High School.
In that same issue, the article "'We can do it!'" stated that Diana and Howard Mendenhall are going to the Persian Gulf this spring with Habitat for Humanity. They are actually going to the U.S. Gulf Coast to help rebuild the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
