Rage U-16 tops Fremont 5-0
(October 21, 2005) Rematch proves strength of Pleasanton team
by Sue and Dan Skinner
The Pleasanton Rage U16 team returned to Fremont to take on the Rampage in a rematch of a 0-0 tie played earlier in the season.
The Rage dominated play as it did in the initial meeting, only this time the shots were true and the 5-0 score over Fremont reflected the difference.
The Rage started the scoring early in the sixth minute when Heidi Larsen slid a pass to Lindsey Ellison who launched a rocket from 25 yards out, finding the back of the net. The Rage scored twice more in the first half. The second goal was again a long-range salvo from Ellison off a direct kick. The third goal came off a crossing pass from Amy Forest that was redirected into the goal by Margie Blidy.
The Rage came out in the second half with another quick goal. In the 50th minute Larsen passed to Jamie Thurman who drove the ball across the goal. The ball deflected off a Rampage defender and into the goal for the score. The final goal was a Larsen header off a Thurman cross in the 57th minute. The Rage defense, anchored by Ellison, Kerry McCulloch, Christina Fromson and Brittney Kepke, played strong the entire game.

(October 21, 2005) Falcons 12, Jaguars 0
Jake Bussani and Chris Keck scored touchdowns for the Falcons as the team beat the Jaguars 12-0 last week.
The Falcons defense was tenacious as the team notched its second shutout in a row. High tackle honors were shared by Stephen Hanna, Keck and Bussani, as Drew Clawges, Carter Ridgeway and Brandon Darrah contributed key fumble recoveries for the Falcons.
Cowboys 28, Vikings 0
The Cowboys executed flawlessly with a high octane running game and a smothering defense while thumping the Vikings 28-0. Justin "Freight Train" Marino led a punishing display of offense rushing for 291 yards and four touchdowns. He rolled for touchdowns on runs of 43 yards, 58 yards, 44 yards, and 38 yards thanks to gaping holes opened by the front line of Jeremy Blandino, Tory Zeimer, Tom Greiner, AJ Hebert, and Sean Vanlandingham.
Demitrius Woodson added 28 yards rushing and scored a two point conversion.
49ers 24, Patriots 6
The Junior 49er's redeemed one of their earlier losses by dominating the Patriots to the tune of a 24-6 final.
The Pats got the better of the Niners the first time the two teams met, but this time the 49ers were at full strength and it showed. Tyler Bussani, who missed the first meeting between the two teams, scored three times, running at ease through the Pat's defense. Cale Rubinson scored the other touchdown for the Niners.
The 49ers got outstanding play from their offensive line, with William Theofanopoulos, Chad Kraft, Kyle Wong, Christopher Himelblau and Pat Cardenas who all played solid. Hawk Becker also had a great game on both sides of the ball for the Niners. The 49er defense was solid as well, with only one long run by the Patriots early in the game.
